Copycat Starbucks Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Espresso with Cinnamon

  • Author: SALY
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A homemade iced latte that replicates the popular Starbucks drink, featuring a rich brown sugar cinnamon syrup, bold espresso, and creamy oat milk over ice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 shots espresso (or strong brewed coffee)
  • 1 cup oat milk (Barista Edition recommended)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, water, and cinnamon. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves and mixture simmers for 1-2 minutes to thicken slightly.
  2. Remove syrup from heat and let it cool completely. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks if making ahead.
  3. Brew two shots of espresso using an espresso machine, Moka pot, or strong coffee maker. Let the espresso cool for a few minutes to prevent melting the ice too quickly.
  4. Fill a tall glass (16 oz) with ice cubes.
  5. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of the cooled brown sugar cinnamon syrup over the ice.
  6. Pour the cooled espresso over the syrup and stir gently to combine.
  7. Slowly pour the oat milk over the coffee mixture to create layers. Froth the milk beforehand if desired for a foam top.
  8. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, cool the espresso before adding to ice to prevent dilution. The brown sugar syrup can be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to two weeks. If the syrup crystallizes, gently reheat it to dissolve the crystals. Use coffee ice cubes if you prefer a stronger flavor as the ice melts.
