Description
An easy, elegant party appetizer featuring a wheel of creamy Brie topped with a tangy-sweet cranberry orange jam, baked until golden and bubbly.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 wheel Brie cheese (8–10 oz / 225-280g), in box and wrapped in parchment
- 1/2 cup (120g) whole berry cranberry sauce
- 1 medium orange (for zest and juice)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- Crackers, baguette slices, or apple slices for serving
- Optional: Chopped pecans, walnuts, or fresh thyme
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove Brie from box, peel back top parchment, and place in an oven-safe baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine cranberry sauce, honey, vanilla extract, black pepper, and orange zest. Stir until honey is incorporated.
- Spread the cranberry mixture evenly over the top of the Brie. Sprinkle with optional nuts if using.
- Brush the exposed sides and top of the Brie with softened butter.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is soft to the touch and bubbling at the edges.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes to allow the cheese to set slightly.
- Serve warm with crackers, bread, or fruit.
Notes
Use whole berry cranberry sauce for better texture. Do not overbake or the cheese will become oily. Let the brie rest for 5 minutes before serving to ensure it is scoopable rather than liquid. Can be assembled up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerated.
