High-Protein Peanut Butter Banana Oat Smoothie

  • Author: SALY
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A thick, creamy, and satisfying 5-minute breakfast smoothie packed with protein and fiber. Made with frozen bananas, peanut butter, oats, and optional protein powder, this drink keeps you full for hours and tastes like a milkshake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium frozen bananas, peeled and sliced (about 200g)
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter (32g)
  • 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats (20g)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (240ml)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (12g)
  • 1 scoop protein powder (30g, optional)
  • 1/2 cup ice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice bananas, then freeze them until solid. Measure out oats, chia seeds, and peanut butter.
  2. Pour milk into the blender first to help blades spin freely. Add protein powder if using.
  3. Add oats, chia seeds, peanut butter, and any other dry ingredients like spinach or cocoa powder.
  4. Add the frozen bananas to the blender.
  5. Blend on low speed to break up the fruit, then gradually increase to high speed. Blend for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth.
  6. Taste and adjust consistency by adding more milk if too thick or more frozen fruit/ice if too thin.
  7. Pour into a glass and serve immediately.

Notes

For best texture, ensure bananas are frozen solid. If your blender is weak, soak oats in milk for 5 minutes before blending. Chia seeds absorb liquid, so let the smoothie sit for 5 minutes after blending or soak chia seeds beforehand. Store leftovers in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours; shake well before drinking as chia seeds will settle.
