Description
A quick and easy homemade iced coffee topped with a rich, velvety vanilla sweet cream cold foam. This recipe rivals coffee shop drinks but allows you to control the sweetness and ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream (35% fat or higher)
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1.5 cups cold brew coffee (or strong brewed coffee chilled)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Prepare the coffee base by pouring 1.5 cups of cold brew or chilled strong coffee into a tall glass filled with ice cubes.
- In a small bowl or mason jar, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, vanilla syrup, and vanilla extract.
- Using a handheld milk frother, whip the cream mixture for 20-30 seconds until it thickens and forms soft peaks. Alternatively, seal a mason jar halfway full with the mixture and shake vigorously for 45-60 seconds.
- Gently pour the whipped foam over the back of a spoon onto the iced coffee to create distinct layers.
- Serve immediately with a straw, stirring in if desired for a creamier latte-like drink.
Notes
Keep all ingredients cold for the best foam stability. Do not over-whip the cream or it will turn into butter. The foam can be made up to 2 hours in advance and stored in the fridge. For a dairy-free version, use full-fat coconut cream and maple syrup.
