Sugar-Free Peach Green Tea Refresher

  • Author: SALY
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

A crisp, refreshing summer drink made with fresh peaches, green tea, and sparkling water. It is naturally sweetened by the fruit, requires no added sugar, and takes just five minutes to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium ripe peaches (about 300g)
  • 4 green tea bags (or 2 teaspoons loose leaf)
  • 2 cups water (for brewing)
  • 1 cup sparkling water (unsweetened)
  • 12 tablespoons sugar substitute (optional, e.g., erythritol or monk fruit)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 45 mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil water and pour it over the green tea bags in a heatproof pitcher. Steep for 3-4 minutes, then remove the tea bags to prevent bitterness. Let the tea cool to room temperature or chill in the fridge.
  2. Wash the peaches. If the skin is tough, peel them. Cut in half, remove the pit, and slice the flesh into chunks. Place chunks in a glass or jar and mash them with a fork into a pulp, leaving some texture.
  3. Pour the cooled green tea over the mashed peaches. Add the fresh lemon juice and sugar substitute (if using). Stir well and taste, adjusting sweetness or strength as needed.
  4. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the peach tea mixture over the ice.
  5. Top with sparkling water, pouring slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.
  6. Gently stir to combine. Garnish with torn mint leaves and a peach slice if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not steep green tea for more than 5 minutes to avoid bitterness. For a stronger tea flavor without dilution, freeze brewed green tea in ice cube trays. Ensure peaches are ripe and soft for best mashing and sweetness. Store brewed tea and mashed peaches separately in the fridge for up to 3 days; add sparkling water only when ready to serve.
